I’m happy to report that I’m not dead or dying, I just have a really terrible sinus infection. Terrible. Monday night when I wrote I was dying, I had a raging fever, headache and thought it was the end of my days. I took an Ambien (generic) and then laid in bed for 2 hours, blowing my nose and crying. I finally went to the doctor this afternoon where she gave me a script for an antibiotic and told me of a couple of other things to take to help relieve the pressure in my head. I’m not contagious or anything, so that’s good. And, I’m cleared to fly on Thursday so that’s REALLY good.

I have a million things to do before I head to Houston on Thursday and plan on going to bed soon (keep in mind it’s Tuesday night when I’m writing this). I have a really busy day tomorrow – I’m meeting up with some Atlanta Tweeters in the morning for some deliciousness and I’m really excited. I also have a job interview in the afternoon. In between all that I need to grocery shop, drag Courtney all around and make sure she eats and sleeps, pack, bathe, hopefully workout, make sure Paul is prepared for my absence and on and on.

Courtney is feeling much better and is ADORABLE. She is just as cute as can be. And she is a happy happy girl. And she laughs and laughs and laughs. She’s eating dinner for most of this video. When she’s not eating dinner, it’s after dinner and will you check out that Buddha belly!

I think I’m dying

I can’t remember ever feeling so bad in my life. I’m going to the doctor tomorrow at 1:20. I really hope there’s something they can give me. I have no brain power, this is all you get.

Would you look at my pretty girls hair? FYI – her father gelled it into a Mohawk. Niiice.

It’s a Monday, Monday

I’ve never had a cold that has lasted this long in my life. It just goes on and on and on. It’s officially The Worst Cold Ever. I would pay money for this thing to go away.

We took Courtney out into the snow the other day. She wasn’t a fan. It took me longer to get her dressed to go outside than we actually spent outside.

I actually had to shovel and salt the driveway on Saturday. I think we would have been ok with just the salt but after the last snow, I wasn’t going to risk getting caught with my car in the garage again.

Valentine’s Day was a joke. At the time at which I’m writing this post, 8:32pm, I haven’t gotten a card or a chocolate or a flower. I did get a link to this lovely article though.

There’s crazy good airfare to Jamaica this spring, but you have to buy the tickets by Tuesday. I mentioned it to Paul. Paul, who loves vacation, loves the beach, loves to not be in his cube said, “What would we do there?” I’m not sure who this man is and what he’s done with my husband but this man is not someone I recognize.

And on the BEST NOTE OF THE WEEKEND, I went jean shopping today. I’m down TWO pant sizes. TWO!!!

A beautiful snowy day

I love the snow.

I love how pretty it is when it falls from the sky.

I love how the snow makes a blanket that covers the earth.

I love the peace after a snow fall.

I love how the world seems just a little bit quieter.

I love how the rush of the cars is more of a hush as the blanket keeps it all softened.

I love the contrast between the clean white snow and the brown branches of a tree.

I love how clean everything seems.

I love Courtney’s amazement as the world she knows becomes an entirely new place.

I love her, “What’s that?” as she looks up and the flakes fall on her face.

It’s a beautiful day here.

I love that here, in the south, this doesn’t happen often.

Week in review

Our week has not been the most exciting or at all interesting. There’s been much snot, coughing, and whining. Add to that the fact that Courtney is sick too (bah da dum) and it’s been an uneventful week. I begged my SIL to allow us to come to her house on Wednesday for lunch as the most in depth conversation I’d had in days was with the cashier at Target. And while I may spend a lot of time at Target, the cashier and I don’t have much to talk about as I hand over all my money.

Not surprisingly, I spent a lot of time on the Internet. I came across a couple of things that I wanted to share:

This birth story is beautiful. It will make you SOB. It’s kind of long but the pictures are beautiful and this mom writes with a brutal honesty that not many people are comfortable with. If you read nothing else today, read this.
I hate my house and it’s style. OK, that’s not true but I covet a house like this. I would not-quite-KILL to have a house that’s this neat, clean, has such wonderful lines and I get to build myself. Oh, and I think she’s in Australia. That sounds just lovely.
I’m hoping the Valentine’s fairy (pretty sure there is no such thing) brings me one of these.

I’ve actually applied for a couple of jobs this week, part time jobs, and have an interview next week for one. I’m mostly looking for something I can do from home to help supplement the family income when my unemployment runs out. Keep your fingers crossed!!

It’s actually supposed to snow this morning, 2-6 inches, depending on what nexs channel you watch. I spent my Thursday evening at Home Depot, Costco, Lowes and Publix. Costco had a fraction of the things that I went there for and many things that I didn’t go there for. We’re ready for snowmageddon-Atlanta style. Bring it on!
