We’re in CT for a long weekend, visiting with my family.

Paul’s at home, watching cars crash into houses. (Literally.)

We’re having a great visit. I’m exhausted. Courtney is sleeping like crap – she’s not napping and keeps waking up in the middle of the night (5:30 the first night, 3:00 the second, 1:00 the third night) and as a result, I’m not sleeping either. Courtney is getting to spend some time with her namesake/great grandmother. They haven’t seen each other in a while so I’m glad we have this time together now.

We went to the Children’s Museum of West Hartford today with a college friend and her two boys. We had a good time catching up and the kids all had a good time. I was glad that Courtney wasn’t all about petting the snakes and bearded dragon thing. Gross.

The weather here is freezing. Well, freezing for me. There was even a dusting of snow Saturday night. So we’re spending a lot of time, inside, visiting and lounging around. Courtney is getting really comfortable on her feet and is walking and walking all over the place. She’s pretty clingy, she’s sticking close by but is getting more and more comfy around “strangers” (her grandparents and uncle).
I’m glad that we’re getting this time with my family. It’s too bad that my baby brother and his girlfriend couldn’t be here, that would make our trip complete. But, he’s in school and she’s working, and they live 2 hours away and couldn’t make it this weekend. I’ll miss seeing everyone at Christmas but am glad that we are able to make it for this visit.
