There’s nothing like celebrating the end of the year, hell, the decade, with a sinus infection and raging headache. I shouldn’t be surprised. Tuesday night I think I got a grand total of 3 hours of sleep. I’m not a 3 hours of sleep kind of person. I’m a 9 hours of sleep kind of person but that never happens. Ever.
Tuesday night was probably the worst night we’ve had since Courtney blessed us with her adorableness. The WORST. She was up pretty much all night, screaming her fool head off and if she wasn’t screaming it was because she was in our bed, pulling my hair and trying to break my nose with her 10 pound noggin. It was bad.
I didn’t work out Wednesday (I did Tuesday though). Hell, I didn’t take off my pajama bottoms until noon when the alarm service guy showed up and I didn’t brush my teeth until 4. So no, I didn’t work out. Nor did I shower (no honey, I didn’t shower). It was just one of those days.
So here we are, the last day of the decade and I feel like crap. My head is pounding (and there are only 3 Advil left in the house) and I’m waiting on the doctor to call me back. Last night was better, other than Courtney waking up at 5:45 with a nasty diaper, which I didn’t realize until 6:15 when I went in to drug console her. Now it’s 10am and she’s still asleep. Bum.
This has been a wonderful year and I’m very lucky to have such good friends and family. We’re all fortunate to have good health and if our health isn’t good, then at least people have some good drugs. I know at this time we’re very fortunate to have food in our bellies (I just made Sour Cream Pancakes for breakfast a la the Pioneer Woman – YUMMY) and a roof over our head (which does have a leak). It’s been the best year yet.
I’m not going to go into 2010 making all kinds of resolutions because let’s face it, I’ll break them all and then consider myself a failure. I AM going to commit to doing the 30 Day Shred with the Shredheads in January (I wonder if it’s the 31 day shred, seeing as how January technically has 31 days). I’m also going to cook at home more instead of dumping Chef Boy R Dee into a bowl for Paul and calling it a home cooked meal simply because I heated it up in the microwave. I would like to enroll Courtney into a music class since she seems to like music so much and continues to be my little dancing queen. And lastly, I’d like to do a bit more writing this year and maybe even get paid for it. Oh, and most importantly, I’d like to go to Mexico. Not sure about that one though but a girl can dream.
I hope you and yours have a wonderful New Years Eve and 2010. If you’re venturing out tonight, be careful out there. We’re going out for a bit tonight but I fully expect that I’ll be home and in bed by 9. Nothing like living on the edge.

Sorry to hear that…hope you have an outstanding Jan 1!
Pioneer Woman! (sorry that out of all you wrote I’m honing on the food part – heh. but i’m sorry you’re feeling like crap…) I simply ADORE PW….In fact in my dream state, I wish I was living in The Lodge and cooking with her and hanging out with Marborlo Man and the punks. Yeah, I know, I know WAY too much about her. Did I say I loved her site?

Feel better, sis, and be glad that your tiny one is not the germ warehouse mine are because of day care….although, i’d take a million drugs once Courtney starts school. Love you!
