A year ago today, I finished packing my desk, said goodbye to some friends and worked my last day. I’m pretty sure that I hadn’t been setting my alarm clock at that point (and don’t think I’ve set it since then), I went in when I felt like it. I’d been laid off, after 7 1/2 years, so I wasn’t overly motivated. (I’m pretty sure I hadn’t been overly motivated in the 4 years leading up to that moment.) Never the less, I got up because technically, I had somewhere to be. And they told me that if I didnt show up, no severance for me. So, I went for the last time.
It’s crazy to me to think that Paul and I deliberated and hemmed and hawed on whether or not I should apply for a new job there. On whether or not I’d keep working. Stupid.
The thought of working now, makes me cringe. For so many reasons. I love not working and being home with Courtney. But that doesn’t mean that I don’t stress about money. I stress about it all the time. We’ve had to dig into my savings here and there and now the holiday’s are coming up. And C’s first birthday. And she needs some shoes that will stay on her feet. Paul and I will do a couple of small gifts for Christmas for each other and everyone else I know will get something homemade. Like cranberry walnut bread. I hope no one has a nut allergy.
Where was I?
Oh, it’s been a year since I’ve worked. I couldn’t be happier. And a little stressed. But really happy.

re shoes… Robeez are awesome for learning to walk and stay on great. Pedi Peds are similar and we liked those as well. When you need something more substantial, I adore Livie and Luca shoes. Awesome little kids shoes, and so totally adorable for girls.
